She has honed her skills at both the property level and with strategic roles at the regional and head offices of Starwood Hotel & Resorts and Delta Hotel & Resorts.

Currently Rekha is the CEO of MK2 Hospitality Inc., which provides advisory services in; strategic planning, revenue management and sales & marketing to the hospitality and retirement industry.

Rekha joined Starwood Hotels in 1994 as general manager of the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Toronto International Airport where she was named “General Manager of the Year” by Sheraton in 1995. She moved on to the role of Director of Franchise Operations, overseeing 33 franchise properties in Canada flying Westin, Sheraton and Four Points by Sheraton banners. She also served as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Starwood in Canada.

In 2002, she was appointed general manager for the 1,377-room Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, While at the Sheraton, she executed a three year $100 million comprehensive renovation of all guest rooms, public spaces, ballrooms and meeting space. The hotel was the Global beta site for Sheraton’s new brand direction. Incorporating people and technology with innovation in the creation of interactive lobby use and design.

In 2003, Rekha was awarded Starwood’s inaugural Impact Award for leadership during the SARS crisis. In 2007, Rekha was honoured by the Ontario Hostelry Institute with the Gold Award – Hotelier of the Year.
From 2008 until June 2009, she assumed a variety of roles at Starwood including serving as the Senior Director and Project Lead for Starwood’s Meetings Innovation and Interim Director of Human Resources for Canada. From 2009-2012 Rekha lead the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel as General Manager.

Rekha started her career with Delta Hotels at the 1000 room Delta Chelsea Inn, working her way from Front Office through Sales to Hotel Manager.. Rekha’s expertise was then sought to oversee the expansion and re- positioning of the Delta Meadowvale Resort & Conference Centre as the General Manager from 1990 to 2004. As Delta’s Director of Rooms & Reservations, Rekha was responsible for the strategy and implementation of Revenue Management for the company in addition to managing the Delta Hotels Central Reservation’s office.

A graduate of Ryerson University, School of Business – Hospitality & Tourism Management. As a proactive leader in the tourism industry, Rekha served for three years as the Chair of the Board of the Greater Toronto Hotel Association.
She currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and The Program Advisory Committee for the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at George Brown College.
